Baby Corn Pepper Fry Recipe

Baby Corn Pepper Fry Recipe: An easy stir fry recipe in which baby corn is tossed with garlic and spices.

I never thought there could be a dish made out of Baby Corn which would be yummy when eaten with rice made in Indian Style. This Easy Baby Corn Pepper Fry proved to be one of them. No heavy masalas and no complicated process. Yet it contributes to a sumptuous meal.

All credit goes to my husband as he was the one who gave me the basic idea of this recipe. This recipe tastes best when the baby corn is soft and tender. This is surely one of the best alternatives for typical Manchurian recipes. Adding more of curry leaves gives a nice aroma to this recipe. The combination of curry leaves and pepper is just awesome.

To make that this recipe tastes good it is important that baby corn is cooked well before it’s tossed. You can either boil them or shallow fry them beforehand.

Brinjal Baby Corn Rice

Let us see how to make Baby Corn Pepper Fry Recipe


Baby Corn : 6-8

Onion : 1 Sliced

Garlic : 5-6 Pods

Pepper Powder : 1/4th tsp

Chili Powder : ¼ tsp

Oil: 1 tsp

Cumin Seeds : 1/4th tsp

Curry Leaves : Few

Salt: To taste


Cut the Baby Corn Length wide and further cut them into 2” pieces

Transfer them in a microwave bowl and add few drops of oil and fry them for close to 6-8 mins stirring in between. Alternatively Baby Corn can be par boiled and kept separate mixing salt and pepper powder. Now add Salt and pepper powder to this, mix well and keep aside

Heat oil in a pan and splutter Cumin seeds

Add curry leaves and sliced garlic pods and fry a min

Now add sliced onions and sauté until they turn soft

Add prepared baby corn and fry for 5 mins

Now finally add chili powder and simmer for another 2 mins

Serve with hot Rice or Rotis.
