Spicy Chickpea Patties-How to make Spicy Chickpea Patties

This version of Chickpea Patties is made out of Dried Chickpeas. Dried Chickpeas paste is mixed with other masalas, shallow fried and then served with tasty mint chutney.

This was totally an unplanned recipe for me. It so happened that I had left over soaked Chickpeas in my refrigerator. So I though instead of making a regular salad why not make something different out of it. The following day I had taken off from my work due to some protest happening in the city and hence I thought it was the right time to prepare this Spicy Chickpea Patties.

Prior to making these Spicy Chickpea patties, I had very less chickpea recipes in mind. The first being obviously “Chole”, followed by “Kadala Curry” from Kerala and Salads with some veggies, Grated coconut and tempering. And of course who can forget “Hyderabadi Pani Puri” which is served with boiled Chickpeas.

This Spicy Chickpea Patties is undoubtedly inspired from the famous Middle East Snack “Falafel”. But at the same time I felt I should not be using excess oil. Hence Planned for Shallow fried Patties. I planned the ingredients which are mostly used in Kebabs.
